“Man the boundaries, protect us, do your duty to our school!”
Potterhead Running Club is pleased to present the fourth event of the 2020 season: Locomotor 8k!
Those who have stepped forward to act, far beyond the call to action.
Military members are built to serve. It’s who they are. They have spent most of their adult lives preparing, training, and deploying all over the world to serve their country. For many service members, the worst thing that can happen is to stop serving. They don’t want to become a statue on the wall. They want — they need — to put their training and talents to use to serve others. We are honored and humbled to announce that our charity partner for this event is Team Rubicon!
Team Rubicon is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that utilizes the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders from numerous countries to rapidly deploy emergency response teams. For ten years, they have deployed across the United States, and around the world, to provide immediate relief to those impacted by disasters and humanitarian crises. Whatever the situation is, whomever needs it, they are there: the embodiment of piertotum locomotor (the call to action).
Our support of Team Rubicon will fund a future project (or more than one!) somewhere in the world. We don’t know if we’ll be helping a community ravaged by a tornado or a town hit by a flood, but Team Rubicon will be there with our support.
Our Charity Partner: Team Rubicon
And with this, you can mean it like Minerva.
Professor McGonagall always wanted to use that spell, and you’ll definitely want your own Piertotum Locomotor shirt! It’s the perfect armor against all of the negative forces in the muggle world. Available in multiple fabrics and styles from tees, to tanks, to hoodies, proceeds will also support Team Rubicon!
Stay in. Work out. That’s the benefit of virtual fitness.
Remember that this is a ‘virtual’ active event, so you can complete your eight kilometer distance however, wherever and whenever you want! How? You can walk, run, skip, dance, or saunter. Where? You can do it around your neighborhood, on the treadmill, or on your favorite trail. When? You can do it on a Monday night, a Thursday morning, or a Saturday afternoon. It’s all up to you!
For some extra fun, the optional ‘run day’ for the event is June 17, the Ministry’s official day for when the Second Wizarding War began. If you want to join thousands of others around the world completing some or all the distance on that day, you’ll be in some magical company!
Registration closes at midnight on June 21, 2020. Medals will ship out the following week.

To arms, to arms! (And to legs!) It’s time to run!
